The Yogini from Manila

the yoga scene in the Philippines & all else yoga….

Mi Amiga, Elsie, Makes It As Cover Girl!

I am so happy to announce that one of my online, blogger, yogini friends (Elsie Escobar) has finally made her dream come true — to be featured as the cover girl in a magazine in the U.K.

Elsie - a cover girl!

I was just new to WordPress then and had began blogging about my yoga journey. To my surprise, I checked my comment page one day and there was a post from Elsie. She had found my site (most likely through my “yoga” tag). I replied to her and then began visiting her site regularly. I have listened to some of her podcasts, linked her Flickr photos to my sidebar here, and corresponded with her on some questions I had on yoga.

Her blog post enables you to download the issue where she is featured. Try to read all about her there. She is truly an amazing yogini who has taken yoga beyond just her practice and into the podcasting world. She has even been an ambassador for Lululemon, a leading store for yoga wear. And despite all this “fame”, she remains down to earth and yogeeky enough to correspond with a start-up yogini like me.

  1. Thank you so much for your post Jane! Wow! Now, gotta tell you about Podcast User Magazine, it comes from England, so it’s not US, although, Lance Anderson, my interviewee is from the US. It’s also an online magazine, but hey, that’s good enough for me! Thank you so much for posting this. I was very proud of it, as I’m such a geeky podcaster it’s not even funny. Might I even venture that I love podcasting as much as Yoga :) Wow!!!

Jane: Yikes, my booboo, Elsie. Let me correct the statement to reflect it as a UK mag. As always, you are my inspiration. :-)

  3. i’m glad you and elsie found each other! i take her classes here in LA every now and then; in fact, i was in the “yoga to lift your spirits” class she podcasted recently — i was the compulsive ms. joni that she was referring to at one point :)

Jane: Really? Hmmm, let me look for that podcast and check it out
